Flair
Kevin Owens cut a promo, pretty good. I think I will become a huge fan of this cat. The best part is, he can go in the ring! I would love to see him and Luke Harper tear down the house!
Then one of the most thought provoking thoughts came to mind as Charlotte Flairs music hit, she let out a WHOOOOO worthy of her father the Nature Boy himself. The crowd was sold, they have bought in to her in a big way. Then it hits me; it hits me like Hogan with a leg drop in the 1988. The match that coud define a generation. When we get to reflect in a few years I think that we have seen the start of what will lead the Diva division into the fore front. First we have Total Divas, a hit show that has drawn interest from non wrestling fans, then we have AJ Lee who may have single handed revived the division by thinking outside the box and drawing attention to it although now retired. #GiveDivasAChance then has the internet world abuzz, and of course we all know that TNA has been proving Divas can put on some of the best matches ever.
So, I digress.... Flair comes out and wrestles a 3 way with Becky Lynch and Bailey which BL won and is now the #1 contender. Great match, but remember what Flair said in an interview weeks ago? She wants to headline a PPV! I think she can, I think she will. Imagine this, Flair vs Rousey. This would have money written all over it and could definitely Headline a PPV as big as the Rumble, Or a Survivor Series!Yes this could be a Wrestlemania co-main event, but would not headline the show. The world of sports could be set on fire by Rousey getting into the squared circle, however when the average person found out that she is wrestling Flairs daughter, heads would explode! Flair is a household name wrestling or not. ESPN would be all over this fight as well, giving pro wrestling another chance to shine.
WWE could invite Rousey to an event, and have her cutting a promo about how she would love to be a pre wrestler, and how she is the worlds baddest female. Flairs music could hit and the feud could start. Give it a solid 2 month build with promos on late night shows, and ESPN.
This could culminate in what would be considered the biggest women's wrestling match in history, months to interview various MMA women and Divas from wrestling past and present! It is a win win for everyone involved and the future of Divas wrestling! This could be the match that defines a generation.
versus
Rousey
A match to define a generation.
So as I sit in my chair, drinking morning coffee and waiting for the Extreme Rules event tonight. I fliped on the WWE Network for only $9.99! I catch up on the latest NXT, it starts out strong with Balor in a quick match. Finn Balor has star written all over him; but probably not much more than a great IC title holder one day, probably one of the greatest IC Champs of all time once he does. Maybe he is the one to carry the title with the prestige it deserves.Kevin Owens cut a promo, pretty good. I think I will become a huge fan of this cat. The best part is, he can go in the ring! LIVE UPDATE. ..as I noted in the comments below, Rousey will not be allowed a WWE match for now....so this remains a what could be match. However all contractual obligations come to an end, this will give Charlotte time to develop a name for herself on the WWE main roster, and hopefully holding the title when Rousey becomes available.
Shame, sounds as if we will have to wait until Rousey finishes her UFC contract. Shame this could be a historical moment for Sports Entertainment.
