Wildcat Championship Wrestling Review

PowerBomb Nation Live on Location: WCCW

Welcome back to the PowerBomb Nation folks! Your friend "DC" Dwight Couch has a special treat for you this Holiday Season! PowerBomb Nation was live on location in Lawrenceburg Kentucky and I have the pleasure of bringing you the honest and open review of Wildcat Championship Wrestling!

Lets start with the address:
101 Hilltop
Lawrenceburg, KY
https://www.facebook.com/WCCWwrestling/

                                                   WCCW - Wildcat Championship Wrestling

So as many of you know I am always preaching that you can find great wrestling right out your back door, ya just have to know where to look for it!

This is for real, 4 to 5 miles from my front door!

We pulled into the parking lot and made our way into the Wildcat Arena, we walk into a small hallway that housed a nice lady whom was collecting money for the tickets. We payed what was owed and we were handed our stubs. We then enter the main arena, small and quaint it makes for the classic Indy wrestling scene, the ring was roped off and seating was very comfortable. We set 2 rows back from the ring itself directly behind one ring post.

As we waited for the 7:30 bell time we were entertained by the ring announcer, he had a great vocal presence when addressing the passionate crowd. There were some small technical difficulties through the show as we were in a tornado watch that evening and bad storms were rolling in. Only in Kentucky can you get a tornado warning and three hours later a winter weather warning, and also people brave enough to endure the downpour of rain to watch live Indy Wrestling!

We met some very friendly people whom loved to talk about wrestling and food, the PowerBomb Nation consisted of Me, my wife Wendy, my step son Paul, the neighbor boy & friend Josh and of course attending her very first wrestling match our newly arrived daughter Ava. She was very well behaved as she will watch wrestling non stop on the TV already and she is only 6 months old. She was glued to the ring watching the performances.

Check out the Facebook.com/thePowerBombNation and friend me! You can view the pictures of us there. Also follow on Twitter @PowerBombNation and like our Facebook page facebook.com/PowerBombNation

However, lets get on the the matches! Ring the bell already!

So we get the night started the right way, we all stand for the National Anthem and salute the Stars and Bars!

They were having some technical problems with their PA system.

So then the lights go down and we are ready for some actual in ring action.

Match #1
Johnny Suede vs Dakota Daniels

It was fairly clear from the start that Suede was in control of the crowd. My favorite moment during this match was the comedy Suede and Dakota had going back and forth with each other and the Ref "James". After an entertaining back and forth the match falls to outside interference when DD & Cross come out to attack Suede, this then brings out the other half of Bad Company the Super Assassin hits the ring with his baseball bat and evens the odds.

This then sets up......

Match #2
Bad Company vs DD & Cross

This was the first match in the Tag Team tournament to determine who will get a Tag Team Title shot in 2017.

Suede pulling a major load on the show, that can be said for both him and Assassin, they were a major driving force of tonight's show! We see Bad Company advance via pinfall.

The real Highlight of this encounter had to be the little Heel Double D. He is an arrogant and vain little little man, but hey that is what makes the best heel's right? He had really good interaction with the fans even telling one young man in attendance that the kid was adopted!

Double D in typical heel fashion leaves Cross to get the wrong end of Bad Company. The Widow Maker then address the crowd saying for his actions Double D will have a main event match against the monster Nate Steele tonight!

Match 3:
Battle Royal to determine the #1 Contender for the Heavyweight Championship

Double D, StoneHand Slade, Glove, Dakota Daniels, Cross, Johnny Suede, and Assassin are all in the ring when the convince the ref that this should not be an over the top Battle Royal, but an elimination by pinfall!

This was a fun match with a very odd series of events that ended the Battle Royal, it appeared that Bad Company was going to walk out and hand the match to Dakota Daniels, then they got back in the ring were Johnny Suede pins Super Assassin, then Suede debates leaving comes back in the ring gets hit with a DDT from the Widow Maker (friend & former member of Bad Company) allowing Dakota Daniels to pick up the win and become the new #1 Contender for the Big Doss man's Championship.

The Big Doss Man & Creepa were at ring side and after the Royal Doss & Suede exchanged words setting up some tension that carries deeper within the show.

Match #4

The Dead Rabbits vs Mass Destruction

The 2nd match in the Tag Team Tournament

The "Dead Rabbits" StoneHand Slade & Glove make their way down to the ring.

and the pre match gets under way, I want you to take note of the whistle sounds.

Now the actual start of the match

The Doss Man & Creepa were fairly dominate in this contest, and StoneHand Slade does a great job selling the beat down! The Doss Man was really popular and he is a mountain of a man! The Creepa was good in the ring, but I expected him to break his wrist when he punched someone, pencil thin, but had the most interesting look out of all the wrestlers.

Mass Destruction takes the win in this match.

Notice the constant whistle being blown? This person came right next ((literally right next to her within 4 foot)) to my 6 month old daughter and blew that repeatedly, we had to cover her ears. Wound up moving her to the back of the arena just until the end of the match as I was there to show support to PowerBomb Nation Alumni StoneHand Slade but it was too much so we left after this match and I did not get to see the Main Event. Our Daughter did not make one sound during the event, my Daughter watch and enjoyed the whole show.

Match 5: The Main Event

Double D vs Nate Steele

??????

So my over all thoughts are very positive, Wildcat Championship Wrestling is the iconic Indy Wrestling that sits out your back door in your town! The performers were wonderful about interacting with the fans, they do the typical 50/50 raffle and even had homemade Dumplings that were to die for!

My favorite performers: Bad Company

Best in ring worker: StoneHand Slade sold better than anyone else I watched that night.

Most annoying is a tie: Double D & The damn Whistle

Winner of the night: the Fans because of  The Homemade Chicken Dumplings they are awesome!

Match of the night: Battle Royal

I enjoyed the WCCW show, it was well worth the money.

So get out there and make sure you check out the local events in your area and

He's the Miz and he's AWESOME!

This has to be one of the most emotion fueled promo's in pro wrestling history and it was delivered by +WWE Superstar and Intercontinental Champion The Miz!

After being called a coward The Miz focused his energy and passion on the SmackDown Live GM Daniel Bryan, enough so that the GM walked off the set of SmackTalk!

I have been a huge fan of Miz for a very long time, and have felt he is one of the most underrated Superstars roster. His WWE Championship reign has somewhat been forgotten even though he retained his title at Wrestlemania with a win over John Cena (One superstar that won his fued with Cena and did not get buried) , and was literally on every late night talk show, he was a great ambassador for the company and truly is a must see act. His in ring performances are always solid, he sells with the very best in the business and makes his opponents look great.

After this promo I hope the WWE brass sees that this man is ready to continue his run and add a ton of legitimacy back to the Intercontinental title, and with passion like this he can make the IC title the most important thing on SmackDown.

He has come to play, he is here to stay because he's The Miz and he is AWESOME!

Don't believe me? Check out this promo and tell me the last time you have heard a promo to rival this one?

Huge Main Event planned for the Royal Rumble?

So rumor has it that the Main Event for this years +WWE  Royal Rumble will be for the Universal Championship, and will feature Brock Lesnar challenging for the Championship. And of course can be seen on the +WWE Network

If that is the case lets look at what will build to such an event.

Brock will beat Randy Orton at Summer Slam, and we wont hear much out of him until its time for the Rumble, probably announced well in advance that the Champion at that time will face the Beat Incarnate at the event. If he is to be the #1 contender, loosing to Orton should not happen at least a clean win by Orton.

The best speculation, who will be his opponent. As of now Finn Balor or Seth Rollins will have the honor.

Rollins would make for the ideal 1st Universal Champion, he is the total package for a pro wrestler now days and has the brass behind him. We have seen the Beast vs Rollins, and I would love to see it again. This would also allow for Lesnar to win the title and go on to Wrestlemania as Champion and the title can gain a great amount of prestige behind it as well. Brock is also coming off the +UFC - Ultimate Fighting Championship win so the iron is hot so to speak. Allowing him to be Champ through Mania will allow for someone special to have a HUGE Wrestlemania moment by conquering the Beast and winning the belt.

Balor is whom most would like to see as the first Universal Champion. The brass is high on him as well, and are looking to him as the future of the company. Lets say he beats Rollins, wins Championship and heads into the Rumble against Brock, what then? Do they let him take the Beast out? Ruining all shots at a truly historic and remarkable moment at Wrestlemania? Or do they let Brock beat / destroy Balor and have him return with the Club in tow to slay the beast?

Or will it be someone else entirely? There is plenty of time between Summer Slam and the Royal Rumble. Only time will tell, as we know everything can change over night, and this is just speculation!

Please share your thoughts below!

Second drug test failed by Brock Lesnar?

Photo from BleacherReport.com

Breaking News:

It was announced today that the USADA has informed +UFC - Ultimate Fighting Championship  that Lesnar failed the drug test that was taken on the day of UFC 200.

That is two tests failed for the same substance. The latest test on 7/9/2016 and the prior on 6/28/2016.

What are your thoughts?

It is still unclear on +BROCK LESNAR 's status within the +WWE

Powerbomb Nations WWE Mock Draft

So it is WWE draft time once again and I couldn't be more excited about tonight's Smackdown Live! So we are going to break down the first 35 or so picks for this year's draft. I feel this gives us a solid enough look to what the faces of the shows will look like and everything else is just plug & play filler!
So 1st the rules....
Raw selects 1st
Smackdown selects 2nd
Raw gets 3 picks to SmackDown 2
Tag teams count as 1 pick unless GM only wants one member.
6 Picks can come from the NXT roster
So let's get started shall we.
1)Raw: Seth Rollins
2)SmackDown: Dean Ambrose
(This sets up the title match for the 1st battle of brand supremacy in the main event, winner becomes champion. And one brand draws first blood.)
3)Raw: Roman Reigns (Too much invested in him not to have the first 3 picks go the the Shield)
4)Smackdown: The Club (I'm taking advantage of the rule where tag teams are one pick. Aj, Gallows, Anderson hard not to take them #1 overall)
5)Raw: Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman
6)Raw: Charlotte Flair (Womens Champ)
7)Smackdown: John Cena ( The new face of Tuesday nights, filling in the Undertakers old role)
8)Raw: Kevin Owens (Solid Gold for Monday night)
9)Smackdown: The Miz /Maryse (IC Champ & is really as underrated as they get. The man is gold on the mic & in the ring)
10)Raw: Finn Balor (The Demon invades Raw)
11)Raw: New Day (Tag Team Champs & Because New Day Rocks)
12)Smackdown: Nakamura (Smackdown should be full of great matches, the in ring show as we will see as the draft continues)
13)Raw: Randy Orton (From Legend Killer to Legend & Vet of Raw)
14)Smackdown: Sasha Banks (Boss of Tuesday nights)
15)Raw: Enzo & Cass (Reunited with Carmella & hottest tag team besides New Day)
16)Raw: Bray Wyatt (Split from his family & primed to tussle with the big dogs)
17)Smackdown: Sami Zayn (Primed to be a prime timer under Daniel Bryans Smackdown)
18)Raw: Rusev w/ Lanna (US Title on Monday nights & gives Raw another beast in the ring)
19)Smackdown: Bayley (Called up to hug it out on SmackDown)
20)Raw: Becky Lynch ( Look out Flair, Foley is a big fan and she should get a great push with the lanes clearer in the Women's title hunt)
21)Raw: Dana Brooke (Solid filler with Flair)
22)Smackdown: Cesaro (Cesaro vs Nakamura! )
23)Raw: Baron Corbin
24)SmackDown: Del Rio
25)Raw: Titus O'Neil
26)Raw: Carmella
27)SmackDown: Vaudevillians
28)Raw: Darren Young w/Backlund
29)Smackdown: American Alpha
30)Raw: Neville
31)Raw: Kalisto
32)Smackdown: Ziggler
33)Raw: Dudleys
34)Smackdown: Jericho
35)Raw: Uso's
Mix & match from here, we will get some trades and such as the night progresses though. Should be alot of fun with lots of coverage on TV & the WWE Network both before and after Smackdown.

WWE Title and brand supremacy up for grabs on SmackDown Live?

After a great match last night on Raw where both Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose pinned each other in a controversial finish it has been announce that tonight on SmackDown Live we will get a rematch in the main event.

Something tells me that each will be drafted to a different brand and with the title being effectively vacated the first main event on this new era of SmackDown will be a battle for dominance.

Which brand will leave tonight with the WWE Championship in tow?

Tune in tonight Live to find out!

Super Star of the Week for June 26th

It is my honor to introduce to you PowerBomb Nations 1st Superstar of the week!
NO WAY JOSE!

Let's start with what improvements he still needs to make, all be it not many what so ever!

1.He still seems green in the ring, his moves are solid however the fluidity is not there yet.

2.He is saddled what many believe to be a less than desirable gimmick. That's nothing a good ol fashion well timed heel turn wouldn't fix. It has to be well timed though.

So now let's focus on the greatness of No Way Jose.

1. His look. He is an imposing figure in the ring. He has the height and the size of a WWE Champion, and is very unique.

2. Attitude, the man brings it everytime he comes out. He has embraced the Fiesta gimmick and has honestly made it one of the things I look forward to every Wednesday night.

3. He makes you want to dance! He works the crowd. He gets the crowd into his routine. He gets his opposition into his dancing, and it translates very well on camera.

For these reasons it is my honor to make No Way Jose our 1st Superstar of the week!

WWE launching a "New Brand?"

After Thursday's #WCW taping; Triple H took to Twitter and said the following:

"Today, I saw talent seize opportunity, knock down doors, and exceed expectations in and out of the ring.

Today, we launched a brand.  "

Judging from the talent pool, and the talent that did not qualify, I think it could be a possibility!

What do you think? Could the #CWC be a brand within itself?

Possible Money in the Bank Spoiler? and Summer fantasy booking!

Hello PowerBomb Nation!

With the recent development of the brand split of Raw and Smackdown , and with Smackdown going to a live format on July 19th and the BattleGround event being the 24th coming from it has me thinking of how the title situation will play out.

Lets break down a couple things with some championship fantasy booking shall we?

Intercontinental Championship will remain on Raw.

United States Championship will go to Smackdown.

That leaves us with a few titles that will have some questions surrounding them, the Tag Team Championship, the Women's Championship, and the World Heavyweight Championship.

BattleGround will have huge implications for some championships namely the Tag Team & Women's.

The Women's  & Tag Team Championship can be resolved fairly simply, Battle Ground can be just that crowning of the champions in a match or series of matches leading up to the eventual crowning of said SuperStar's for said Championships! I am hoping for a tournament or massive war games style match because that would be interesting!

So that leaves us with the World Heavyweight Championship, they could do the same thing as above and make Battle Ground a real special show, or we may know who they will be after Money in the Bank. I had the thought that this Roman vs Rollins will be the championship match that defines the new era in the +WWE but what if it truly is......what if it crowns both Champions?

I think we may very well get a double win, both men grapple on the ladder, and both men fall to the ground with the Championship in their hands, thus leaving room for them both to be Champion, one of Raw and one of Smackdown! I will venture to say Rollins will go to Smackdown as champ and Roman will continue on Raw as champ.

So who would PowerBomb Nation select as Champions of each brand after BattleGround?

Raw:

World Champ - +Roman Reigns
IC Champ - +Mike The Miz Mizanin  (he has been doing such a great job!)
Tag Team Champs - The New Day
Womens Champ - Charlotte Flair

SmackDown:

World Champ - +Seth Rollins
US Champ - Rusev (He can make the title special)
Women's Champ - Becky Lynch
Tag Team Champions - Dudley Boyz

This would make for some interesting feuds going into Summer Slam in Brooklyn, NY, it gives the Dudley Boyz another title run and a historic marking them the greatest tag team ever and maybe a date with American Alpha! Becky Lynch gets a deserved spot, Charlotte & Sasha Banks could get a major feud at Summer Slam. Rusev could defend against Cesaro, the New Day and The Club (maybe with Balor as leader) would make for an epic program. Roman vs Cena would be a great match that would get an interesting reaction to say the least. Rollins vs Sami Zayn would be something I want to see! The Miz can elevate just about anyone on the roster they want to pair with him. All of this with the looming Money in the Bank holder Kevin Owens, the return of Brock Lesnar, Bray Wyatt and his family & Randy Orton would have the +WWEUNIVERSE on fire going into the fall!

These are just my thoughts with my speculation, what do you think? How do you see this summer playing out? Let us know below!

Surprise return & debut at Wrestlemania?

Rumors are running all around the wrestling community that at Wrestlemania a big name will return!

A long list of injuries keep several names at the top of the list. Front runner is of course John Cena, he's been very cryptic on social media even references the Undertaker on occasion.

Others are possibly Cesaro as he has been seen without a sling, Randy Orton, maybe a Kurt Angle? But I'm digging the Cena heel turn conspiracy and he looks like he may be ready to return in some fashion.

Another possibility is a debut. Only one name that comes to mind is Finn Balor. Balor could show up as a hired gun for Shane McMahon, the possibility of Finn Balor and the newly named Bullet Proof would be interesting, Shane has history in Japan so they could always play off a grand conspiracy and that Shane hand selected them to invade the WWE. ....Gallows & Anderson are rumored to be on their way stright to the main roster....posiible debut here?

Thoughts? Who do you think will surprise us all at Wrestlemania this Sunday? Or will we even get one at all?

WWE to re-brand the Diva's to the Women's division!

That's right folks, the Diva's division will become the Women's division +Monday Night Raw following +WWE  +Wrestlemania.

Rumors surfaced this afternoon that the change will be happening and a new belt has already been commissioned, this adds to my theory that he Diva's revolution was a success, and with the amount of talent on the roster between +WWE NXT & +WWE this should bring actual legit women's wrestling into the new generation.

Who knows, maybe going into Monday Night Raw we will all be talking about how the Triple threat match stole the show!

Until next time Nation

PowerBomb Preview of NXT TakeOver Dallas

PowerBomb Nation, the time is here! The best weekend of the year is here for wrestling fans; that's right +Wrestlemania weekend is here folks. What better way to enjoy all the festivities than on the +WWE Network with the +WWE giving new subscribers #FreeWrestlemania (free month). However for those waiting until the last moment may want to consider signing up now as the +WWE NXT has their Take Over Dallas event on Friday April 1st 2016, and you definitely do not want to miss a single moment of this one. So without further ado lets get right onto what looks to be a great card and give you a little PowerBomb Preview of this Friday's NXT show.

Austin Aries vs Baron Corbin

Attacking Aries from behind during his debut was a great way for Corbin to gain more exposure and continue to present that ruthless streak he is known for. It also shoots Austin Aries into a solid feud that puts him right in line for contendership of the NXT title.

I look for Corbin to walk out of this battle with the win. I think it will be more beneficial for Corbin at this point in their careers, the WWE is priming Corbin for big things. I would imagine this is a primer feud for a run with the NXT championship at sometime this year.

Aries, well it would be nice to see him win this match but given the circumstances and timing I think he will take the loss and continue this feud for a bit longer. Don't worry guys I think you will see Aries win plenty in NXT, just won't be against Corbin.

Winner: Baron Corbin via Pin

The Revival vs American Alpha
For the +WWE NXT Tag Team Championship

Let me start by saying, i'm ready willing and Gable to get behind American Alpha I am very biased in this pick, teams like this do not come around very often. Looking over the card this should be the most technical match of the evening, solid and old school just the way I like my wrestling matches!

I look for the Revival and American Alpha to continue this feud into the summer, maybe with a couple other teams involved.

Look for the Revival to continue their winning ways

Winner: The Revival ... and Still NXT Tag Team Champions

Apollo Crews vs Elias Sampson

I really enjoy watching Apollo. He may be my favorite NXT superstar right now, and I think he will make a tremendous splash when he finally gets called up to the main roster. However on Friday he goes toe to toe with the Drifter named Elias Sampson. I look for Apollo to dominate most of the match, his move set should prove to over whelm Sampson. However, look for some underhanded tactics to be used allowing Sampson to score a huge upset win.

Winner: Elias Sampson

Sami Zayn vs Shinsuke Nakamura

This is my pick for match of the night! This will be an instant classic so do not miss it!

Nakamura making his debut spells bad news for Zayn fans. Nakamura looks to make a huge impact upon his debut, and no better way than to defeat a man who will be competing on Sunday night for the +Intercontinental Championship. Sami will have his spots Friday, but his day is Sunday in the ladder match.

This is probably a one off match and Nakamura will get his first real fued going into the summer, maybe even +Chris Jericho because that would be #Amazing

Look for Nakamura to impress with a entertaining entrance and continue to amaze until he is gone back stage! I have seen this man in +NEW JAPAN and he is awesome. Look for a ton of high risk and innovative moves from these two!

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura via pin

Bayley vs Asuka
For the NXT Women's Championship

Another match that has classic written all over it! Bayley has proved herself with this current title run and has exceeded everyone's expectations and she has proved she belongs on the short list of the who's who in women's wrestling.

Asuka is a world renowned and brings with her years of experience and a unique style that to say the least is very interesting. This match could very well steal the show, and I look for Asuka to take over the NXT women's championship and division Friday night!

Winner: Asuka via pin and New NXT Women's Champion

So now ladies and gentleman to the main event in Dallas Texas!

Samoa Joe vs Finn Balor
for the NXT Heavyweight championship

These two can go, that's all that needs to be said. This will be an absolute battle and I have no idea how this match will end..... so lets look at a couple possibilities.

Clean match with a defined winner is always a possability.

Maybe we see the debut of BulletProof and they aide Balor over Joe and set up a dominating force in NXT, or will Joe win and we get a Bullet Proof debut on the show of shows Sunday costing the Undertaker his match? Or maybe they all stay in NXT for the summer and tear down the house again for a rubber match around SummerSlam?

Who ever looses this match will probably be pulled to the main roster soon, possibly Sunday or Monday night even!

My pick..........

Winner: Samoa Joe via pinfall and New NXT Champion

So what do you think? This looks to be a great event and possibly even better than Wrestlemania itself! What a statement right?

Well no matter what make sure you are watching this Friday to see how it all shakes out! Follow PowerBomb Nation on +Twitter and +Facebook as I like to interact live during the shows!

3 ways of Saving the Roman Empire

Good evening +WWE Universe, PowerBomb Nation is bringing you a little food for thought tonight and we are going to examine how to save the Roman Empire. At this point we all see that Roman Reigns is going to be boo'ed and cheered, primarily boo'ed as we see with the John Cena effect. I have a couple ideas that may just save the Roman Empire......

#3 - Turn Heel. This one seems so simple to me, follow the path of the Rock. The Roman Empire could have stood strong with HHH in control. Roman could have been a beast that went through and destroyed everyone, and he still can.

So lets play a little fantasy booking here Roman Reigns wins a battle with HHH at +wrestlemania. He celebrates in the middle of the ring with the belt held high and the confetti streams down a mixed chorus of cheers and boos echo through the arena. Lets say the Rock hops in the ring to celebrate with Roman, the last time the arena actually boo'ed the Rock. What if after a moment of celebration Roman drops the Rock like a bad habit. Leaves Wrestlemania with championship in hand and the Rock laying battered & bloody in the ring. The next night on Raw a new Roman emerges different music and a different outfit that brings with it a new attitude, maybe even add a mouth piece Heyman or Zeb would make for excellent inserts here, or maybe it was Vince all along and the Roman Empire is backed by a McMahon. He comes out and trashes the fans and says how they never supported him and now he is going to show them how much of a bad ass he really is. The rest writes itself, any number of people can come out to foil Roman, including the former Shield members. (Just imagine all the great face's that can go down to Roman....and what a moment when someone actually does it! Hey WWE this would be a great way to have someone over take CM Punks record, and the fans would BOO Roman out of the building if he did that.....nuclear heat right there!

#2 - Cena comes to play, we had this teased not too long ago when they stood nose to nose in the middle of the ring. I know what you are thinking, do we want to see Cena vs Roman? Hell yeah we do, it will be a great match, and do not try and tell me it would not be. Roman is the face of the company now, and we probably need to get use to it. If Cena came out to congratulate Roman and hits him with the AA and goes Heel; all his little fans, the children and women would all cry and boo and firmly plant themselves behind Roman. This would inject alot of life into both superstars that is much needed, but it would effectively pass the torch from Cena to Roman.

#1 (This needs to be done like ASAP) - Just drop the Shield act.....stop coming through the crowd, change your outfit! For god's sake please please please get new music! You will never get to have the full effect of the Shield reunion if Roman is still using the damn music! Change his act WWE PLEASE!!!!!!!! I think you we be amazed what a little change can do for this man!

What do you think? Is there another way to save the Roman Empire? Leave your thoughts below! I think he could be one of the greatest heel's the company has ever know.....but hey that's why I am writing about it in a blog.
